On July 26, 2018, Cameron Mathison was named as Matenopoulos' new co-host, to assume his position in September with the launch of the seventh season. The revived show's ninth season became its last, following cancellation by Hallmark Channel in March 2021.

Other people in the family enjoy this kind of stuff, but I think that this show is a joke, especially from a technical aspect. The topics covered are typical daytime talk show schlock, which in and of itself isn't bad, but rather predictable. Because the show is filmed inside a "real house", filming is incredibly awkward. There are crew members constantly walking into frame, realizing that they just walked into frame and abruptly walking out. The hosts are running about to different parts of the house....sometimes they don't make it in time for their cue. Much of the time, there's some sort of audio feed issue with a guest, which just adds the the awkwardness.

It was the perfect show to escape from the politics and woke culture on every other talk and news show. The perfect place to learn about the actors and their latest movies, especially Hallmark previews. We make an effort to watch Home and Family during our summer break and holidays.

The Real Reason ‘Home & Family’ Was Canceled

Following the announcement, hosts Debbie and Cameron both took to social media to share their sadness about the show's cancelation. By the time Home & Family’s final season aired, the show was mainly hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison. Since the show’s fans had developed connections to those two, it begs a question, what are they up to now. Based on her Instagram account, it seems very clear that Matenopoulos has made some branding deals as she is blatantly promoting several products.

Miles and miles above the crappy "reality" talk and celebrity gossip shows. May be too syrupy sweet for some, but hey, I like it. As for potential reasons for the cancellation, we can rule out dwindling audiences, as The Wrap includes that season 9 has earned the show its best viewership figures to date. Several scenes from season 2 were recorded in False Creek, a short narrow inlet that separates Downtown and West End neighborhoods in the city. The cast and crew even utilize the premises of the Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio, the Yaletown neighborhood, the Jericho Beach Park, as well as the Vancouver Seawall to tape important sequences. Filming for certain scenes in ‘Home Alone’ also took place on location across various venues in Illinois.

I love how it's actually something DIFFERENT than the norm. I enjoy the energy between all the people that appear regularly. You can tell their guests feel that energy and always seem so comfortable! I enjoy the topics they cover and often pick up tips or ideas that I find useful. So, the season hasn’t been cut off and fans will be given a string of new episodes before it wraps up. It was announced in March 2021 that the ninth season of Home & Family will be its last, although a reason for Hallmark’s cancellation of the show is yet to be confirmed.

I loved Michael so much better than Chuck he was hilarious. I miss shows like this, if it was on now we could have live chat rooms and send them questions to answer on air. I would love to know what everyone is doing now. They should do some kind of reunion show just to catch up with everyone and see what has happened in their lives in the past ten years. I also would love to see everyones kids i am sure a lot of them are married and have kids of there own. This fully functional house / set was built for the new series of Home & Family, shown on the Hallmark Channel, from October 2012.

It’s worth noting that production on the series was ceased twice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A number of shows have been cancelled since the pandemic began, as it has made production far more difficult. Tuning in regularly, their voices and presence can become a source of comfort, which is why it’s always a shame if your show of choice comes to an end. For avid viewers of Home & Family, some rather unfortunate news has emerged. Over the years, you may find that the hosts of your favourite chat show begin to feel more like friends than anything else.
